RC is not in session today for Juneteenth, but the internet does not close, and I was online. My intention this week is to consolidate things I’ve done so far. Finish, package, tidy, and release some stuff. To that end:

  • I published my first npm package today (though it’s currently private, at least while I work out the kinks). It corresponds to the binary-metrics viz I’ve been working on.
  • I didn’t think about how to bundle tailwind styles in an npm package created with sveltekit’s package command. I guess I need to write some rollup config or something, but I’m new enough to this that the route forward is not totally clear. Asked the question on the svelte discord, I’ll see what advice I get.
  • That was a bummer to end the day on, but becoming familiar with a new packaging ecosystem is always a drag. There’s a large leap from package consumer to package author, and all the kinks I’m working out in this first package will pay off. I’m instead choosing to be pleased with my progress so far.

It’s the last week of batch for the previous batch. That’s also a bummer. On the other hand, they’re never graduate-ing, and we get to welcome a new batch of kind, smart folks next week.
